Beginning on the north corporation line of New Sharon connecting with Main Street; thence north following substantially the center section line of Sections 13, 12, and 1‑T77N‑R16W to the Mahaska‑Poweshiek County line at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 1‑T77N‑R16W, Mahaska County (S ¼ Corner Section 36‑T78N‑R16W, Poweshiek County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System records, Iowa 146 in Mahaska County should be deleted from the Primary Road System and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

 

Iowa 146 begins in New Sharon and travels in a northerly direction approximately 2 ½ miles to the Mahaska‑Poweshiek County line.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

Locate Iowa 146 and its extension in Mahaska County, Iowa, as follows:

 

New Sharon:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Market Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of New Sharon connecting with an unnamed street; thence north following substantially the center section line of Sections 13, 12, and 1‑T77N‑R16W to the Mahaska‑Poweshiek County line at a point near the N ¼ Corner Section 1‑T77N‑R16W, Mahaska County (S ¼ Corner Section 36‑T78N‑R16W, Poweshiek County).

 

NOW, THEREFORE:  Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 146, Mahaska County, Iowa.

 

NOTE:  To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
